myAccount / full guide
The Statement of Liability is Revenue's final calculation for the year. The result line shows Overpaid (a refund is due), Underpaid (you owe tax) or Balanced. Refunds are paid to your bank account within days; underpayments under a set amount are usually collected by reducing your credits over future years. If a figure is wrong, amend your return rather than appealing first.

Beyond self-service?
Several years, more than one job, a disputed Statement of Liability or a Revenue letter are where a review by a professional pays for itself. PAYEWise does not file returns; a partner accountant can quote a fixed fee.
