Caring for someone / credit
Married couples and civil partners who are jointly assessed can claim the Home Carer Tax Credit where one partner stays at home to care for a child, a person aged 65 or over, or an incapacitated person. The credit is 1,950 euro for 2025 and 2026. The carer's own income must be under 7,200 euro for the full credit, with a reduced credit up to the taper ceiling.
